Wednesday March 6, saw the eight teams competing in the 2013 Ironwood
Wealth Management Group CCAA Men’s Volleyball National Championship
take to the court in preparation for their opening matches on Thursday,
March 7th.

All eight teams spoke with the media following their individual
practices, and spoke about the upcoming event.

Red Deer College Kings

The ACAC Champion Red Deer College Kings boast 10 CCAA Men’s
Volleyball Championships in the school’s history. As one of the
dominant Canadian volleyball programs, it is no surprise the team enters
this year’s National Championship as the #1 seed and tournament
favourite.

After an impressive 19-1 regular season record, Kings’ Head Coach
Aaron Schulha commented “ We’re very aware of the history of our
program, but this is a new season, and we haven’t won a National
Championship in a few years.”

Red Deer will face the ACAA Champion the University of King’s College
Blue Devils in the opening match of the event, and Coach Schulha
commented “it’s a National Championship and there are no easy
matches. SAIT has played us tough, the PACWEST is strong, and the
Ontario teams have been top ranked all season.”

The Kings and Blue Devils will square

off at 1:00pm on Thursday, March7th at 1:00pm.
