The Red Deer Museum and Art Gallery announces it is set to permanently host an exhibit that portrays the history or Red Deer and Central Alberta.

Red Deer has a unique history of settlement in Western Canada. The ingenuity, leadership and community spirit that contributed to the City’s rich history is still evident today.
As Alberta’s third-largest city, Red Deer needs a permanent history exhibition that will be a focal point for community members and tourists alike. We envision a regional showpiece that will ensure Red Deer’s diverse heritage is shared with future generations. Visitors of all ages will explore and discover the stories of the people who have contributed to the development of this city.

The Place Between: Stories from the Heart of the Parkland, a major permanent exhibition will open in 2013 in time to celebrate the centennial of incorporation of the City of Red Deer.

FUNDING
The total cost of the exhibit including design, construction, installation, administration and promotion is $1.5 million of which $500,000 will be raised through fundraising, grants and corporate or personal sponsorship opportunities.
A community fundraising campaign called “Making History” is being launched over the coming month.

DESIGN
Reich + Petch Design International of Toronto, ON was the successful firm selected through an open procurement call for proposals conducted in the Fall of 2011. Their similar and flagship projects include: County of Grande Prairie: Dinosaur Museum, Fort York Visitor Centre (Toronto), City of Windsor Art Gallery, Age of Mammals Gallery at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, and the Hall of Human Origins at the Smithsonian Institution National Museum of Natural History.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
The community will be invited to view and comment on the exhibit development over the course of the coming year. A newsletter updating progress will be produced periodically and the public is invited to engage with the museum through social media including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, as well as to visit the Museum and Art Gallery in person during their daily open hours.

iMediaTV.ca was excited to donate an exciting video package opportunity to a Red Deer Novice Rec Tournament in January 2012.

This opportunity provided teams get the BIG LEAGUE EXPERIENCE. The Team from the Tournament which purchased the most tickets for this contest would get featured in this special package. The team that wins the draw will get “The Big League Experience” this includes the following:

-Players announced on to the ice with lights and fog machine
-Blue Line line up for the singing of
“Oh Canada”
-Game play by play by a announcer
-Medal presentation after the game
-The entire thing will be Video-taped by iMediaTV.ca with the game hi-lites seen on the Internet at www.imediatv.ca/sports

Both teams would get the opportunity to purchase DVD’s of the entire game!

2012 – New Year & New Goals

iMediaTV.ca is welcoming 2012 with open arms, a fresh start with new goals and objectives.

Bring on January, as we prepare to bring our viewers some great new content and fresh new ideas to our Network.

We may be only 4 years old, but we do have over 20 years of experience.

As we move on to the new year, we plan on expanding on what we do and actually improve on our content. Meaning more of it. To do that means we plan on teaming up with business partners, and advertisers to promote local television with a global reach!
